This wonderful hat design was inspired by the hat pictured on the front cover of The Ribbon is Free book on antique hats by Nelly Valentino. It has a rounded flat crown and a front brim that is tipped back in the center. The brim may be lined with pleated lace, and the bonnet may be fastened securely under the chin with lace edged ribbon wrapped across the top front edge of the crown. Our model is embellished with miniature jewelry with lace on the sides and matching ribbon and flowers on the top. The finished hat fits a doll head of approximately 13 to 14 inches in circumference.
